  • The Children's Ministry is a vital part of New Harmony Baptist Church. We strive to teach our children about God, Jesus, the Bible, and families with Bible-based teaching. Our teachers and workers are made up of people who have trusted God as their personal Savior. We pray that each child develops a love for God and learns how to apply the Bible to their lives. We have many opportunities for our children to learn with Sunday School, Children's Church, AWANA, and Vacation Bible School. We offer several activities for our children throughout the year such as Muffins with Mom, Donuts with Dad, Kids' Camp, Fall Festival, and more. If you have any questions please feel free to contact the church office.

The leaders for our Preschool & Children's Ministry are Jeremy & Tiffany Douglass.

    * All staff and volunteers undergo a background check prior to serving in any capacity in our pre-school & children's department.

  • We are apart of Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. Second Harvest’s mission is to provide food to people facing hunger and work to advance hunger solutions.

At New Harmony, we provide free food to our community once a month. We do require clients to call on the second Tuesday of each month from 1 - 3 pm to get an appointment. Our food distribution date is always the third Tuesday of each month by appointment only.

We participate in 2 different programs. We provide TEFAP food, which is a governmental based program that all clients have to qualify for based on income and number of persons in each household. We also provide a perishables program. ALL clients can qualify for this program. This program works as follows: Second Harvest get donated and surplus food from grocery stores, farms, manufacturers, distributors, and individuals. They then bring the food to one of their three warehouses where the food is inspected and sorted by volunteers, then safely stored. Second Harvest then sends New Harmony, a partner, as much food as they can safely store and the right types of foods to keep their clients healthy and happy.

We would be glad to help anyone that is in need. If this ministry can be of assistance, please call 731-540-7122 on the second TUESDAY of each month between 1 - 3 pm for an appointment.

The leaders for our Second Harvest Ministry are David Wynn & Kathy Reese.

  • The JOY Group of New Harmony Baptist is justly named as it stands for - Just Older Youth. This special group is for those adults that are 55+ and who

enjoy serving and being together in fellowship here at New Harmony Baptist. You may find this group helping with the Live Nativity as they prepare the milk jug illuminators for the driveway; serving with Second Harvest; helping with the Fall Festival; and being a part of the service celebrating the Seniors across Tennssee during their special week to honor them. They are serving their church but also enjoying one another through their many activities: game and movie nights at church; exploring local points of interest; having cookouts and bonfires; or just joining together for a time to eat and fellowship. They are never too old to be together to make a difference. There is always much laughter but there is also a time for devotions and prayers. The wisdom and experiences of the JOY group brings a special bond to this special group, thus making a difference in our church. Please join us and bring your friends. Contact Jimmy Dale & Michelle Hart for more information.

  • The Student Ministry at New Harmony is made up of volunteer leaders that have a personal relationship with Christ and who have been given a calling for youth grades 6th-12th. These leaders encourage students to come to know Christ, strengthen their personal relationship and to become the present and future teachers and leaders within and outside the church by equipping them with the ability to share the gospel with others.

    Matthew 28:19-20 HCSB

"Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Leaders encourage students to be at church every Sunday and Wednesday and to be active in church. We remind the students that the church is not complete when they are not there. Daily Bible reading, devotions, and time in prayer are also encouraged, reminding students of Jesus' ultimate sacrifice on the cross. We pray for the students that they will learn to love Jesus whole heartedly with a servant's heart willing to service.

    Mark 10:45 HCSB

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life—a ransom for many.”

Students meet twice a week. Once on Sunday mornings for Sunday School and then on Wednesday nights for H.U.D.D.L.E. (Huddling Up, Digging Deep, Leaving Excited). Both times are in our Christian Life Center building. HUDDLE is a time of fellowship with food, games, worship music and teaching.

    Matthew 18:20 HCSB

For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there among them.”

Students have several opportunities to serve while at NHBC. Some of the ways involve set up, take down, and participating in the Live Nativity scenes; teaching or helping in VBS and Children's Church; setting up, taking down, and working the booths at Fall Festival for the children; and working Second Harvest unloading the truck, sorting and boxing food, and loading boxes into vehicles for those in our community. Each year students can also participate in You've Been Egged at Easter and Christmas Cookie & Caroling at Christmas. This is a way that we help remind everyone of the read reason for Easter and Christmas while spreading hope and joy and being the hands and feet of Jesus.

    1 Peter 4:10-11 HCSB

"If anyone speaks, it should be as one who speaks God's words; if anyone serves, it should be from the strength God provides, so that God may be glorified through Jesus Christ in everything. To Him belong the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen."

Some activities in the community that our students participate in with fellow believers from other churches are Discipleship Now (aka DNOW), See You at the Pole (SYATP), See You after the Pole, Youth Summer Camp at Crossings, winter conference at Strength to Stand, Judgement House and attending The Promise.

    Hebrews 10:24-25 HCSB

"And let us be concerned about one another in order to promote love and good works, not staying away from our worship meetings, as some habitually do, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day drawing near."

If you need or would like further information please feel free to contact the church office or Jeremy & Kimberly Boyd.

    1 Corinithians 16:13-14 HCSB

"Be alert, stand firm in the faith, act like a man, be strong. Your every action must be done with love."
